A straight ~300m avenue of 146 ginkgo trees spaced 9m apart, running from the Aoyama entrance toward the Picture Gallery, forming a golden tunnel at peak.

Crowd & Timing Tips
- The avenue is one of Tokyo's most popular autumn spots and is crowded almost all day at peak; early morning (around 7-8am) is far quieter.
- Weekdays are noticeably less busy than peak-season weekends.
About Meiji Jingu Gaien
The ginkgo were planted in 1923 as part of the Meiji Jingu Gaien landscape, selected from about 1,600 saplings; the avenue's view toward the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery is internationally known.
